Day 1 🙌🏼🎉💕🌏✈️

After over 30 hours of traveling we have officially landed in Sydney, Australia. This past week has been a bit of a whirlwind. We left for New York on Thursday and got home Sunday night. We packed all day Monday. Then woke up at 5 am for our flight to Houston. We had a 9 hour layover in Houston so we took an Uber into the city to explore the city and stretch our legs before the long flight ahead of us. Houston was a really neat city! It’s very clean and spacious with lots of business and restaurants. Then we headed back to the airport and for a 17 hour plane ride to Sydney. The plane ride wasn’t too bad. Thankfully we ended up getting the whole row to ourselves so we were actually able to sleep for a good bit of the ride.
We landed in Sydney at 6:20 Thursday morning and Eme picked us right up from the airport. We went straight back to Eme’s place to change and meet the group for field service. We did some door to door with the group then grabbed some lunch. Then we went to explore some more of Sydney. We took the train to go see the Sydney opera house and harbor. It was so beautiful! We even got a chance to walk across the Sydney harbor bridge. After lots of walking and exploring we got some dinner then came back to Eme’s place. We are so happy to be here and can’t wait to see what the rest of our trip has to offer!!

Pioneer seminar/ assembly We’ve had a busy couple of days. In an attempt to try Australian food we ate vegemite 😖 I only managed to eat two bites of it on my toast. Friday we did service with the Beverly Hills congregation then went to target (of course we found a target in Australia) and the grocery store to buy some Australian candy. We had the priviege of going to the pioneer seminar Friday afternoon. 266 pioneers were in attendance in just one side of the circuit! Afterward we did a spa night with Eme. We did 3 different face mask, nails and a hair toner. Saturday was the assembly. They have such a beautiful assembly hall and some very nice people in their circut. We’re having a great time exploring Sydney and meeting so many amazing people!

Goodbye Australia.... for now

We have left Australia and made it to New Zealand! We had an amazing time in Australia and will never forget all the love and hospitality shown to us. We met some of the best people while we were there New Zealand  is stunning and pretty untouched. They’re pretty strict about what they allow into the country. At customs they even asked us about our gym shoes to make sure we’re nit bringing any outside soil into the country. If you bring anything into the country you’re not supposed to (fruits, nuts, honey, etc) they automatically fine you at least $400. We arrived in Auckland and stayed in the city for a night then headed out to whangarei the following day. I’ve never seen grass so green and sky so blue. This truly place looks like paradise. Today we did a long day in service which included eating blackberries, apples and grapes that we found growing in the territory.We also tried mineral water from a stream. Glow worm caves and breams head hike 🐛🌤🧗🏼‍♀️🌅

Last night we headed out to organ cave to see the glow worms. Glow worms are little insects  that live in dark/damp environments. A chemical reaction between oxygen in the air results in bioluminescence which causes them to light up blue in the dark. And yes I did turn to google for that definition 😆.  We headed out at about 9:30 at night to go caving. We crawled through dark, muddy caves to see the glow worms. It was really neat to see them! When we turned off our headlamps we were able to see all these glow worms light up. They were really neat to see, but I couldn’t get my phone to capture a picture of them. Google has really good pictures of them if you’re curious as to what they look like. We got back completely wet and muddy around 11:30 at night and had to be up at 3:15 for our hike the next morning.
