Glow worm caves and breams head hike 🐛🌤🧗🏼♀️🌅
Last night we headed out to organ cave to see the glow worms. Glow worms are little insects that live in dark/damp environments. A chemical reaction between oxygen in the air results in bioluminescence which causes them to light up blue in the dark. And yes I did turn to google for that definition 😆. We headed out at about 9:30 at night to go caving. We crawled through dark, muddy caves to see the glow worms. It was really neat to see them! When we turned off our headlamps we were able to see all these glow worms light up. They were really neat to see, but I couldn’t get my phone to capture a picture of them. Google has really good pictures of them if you’re curious as to what they look like. We got back completely wet and muddy around 11:30 at night and had to be up at 3:15 for our hike the next morning. After 3 short hours of sleep we woke up to hike bream head. It was early but so worth it. It’s a 4.5 mile hike up a mountain. We started off on the beach, climbed up s...
