Glow worm caves and breams head hike 🐛🌤🧗🏼‍♀️🌅

Image
Last night we headed out to organ cave to see the glow worms. Glow worms are little insects  that live in dark/damp environments. A chemical reaction between oxygen in the air results in bioluminescence which causes them to light up blue in the dark. And yes I did turn to google for that definition 😆.  We headed out at about 9:30 at night to go caving. We crawled through dark, muddy caves to see the glow worms. It was really neat to see them! When we turned off our headlamps we were able to see all these glow worms light up. They were really neat to see, but I couldn’t get my phone to capture a picture of them. Google has really good pictures of them if you’re curious as to what they look like. We got back completely wet and muddy around 11:30 at night and had to be up at 3:15 for our hike the next morning. After 3 short hours of sleep we woke up to hike bream head. It was early but so worth it. It’s a 4.5 mile hike up a mountain. We started off on the beach, climbed up s...

Goodbye Australia.... for now

Image
We have left Australia and made it to New Zealand! We had an amazing time in Australia and will never forget all the love and hospitality shown to us. We met some of the best people while we were there New Zealand  is stunning and pretty untouched. They’re pretty strict about what they allow into the country. At customs they even asked us about our gym shoes to make sure we’re nit bringing any outside soil into the country. If you bring anything into the country you’re not supposed to (fruits, nuts, honey, etc) they automatically fine you at least $400. We arrived in Auckland and stayed in the city for a night then headed out to whangarei the following day. I’ve never seen grass so green and sky so blue. This truly place looks like paradise. Today we did a long day in service which included eating blackberries, apples and grapes that we found growing in the territory. We also tried mineral water from a stream. We found a really cool waterfall in service and jumped in when we were d...

Melbourne 💕🌈🍭🎨

We’ve been having such a great time in Melbourne so far. We’ve been doing lots of service and having truly amazing experiences. The people here couldn’t be nicer and hospitable. It amazes me because we had never met anyone here before we came here and I feel like I’ve known these people forever. Today we went into Melbourne to explore the city. It’s such a cool and chill city. There’s lots of alleyways with really cool street art, So naturally we felt the need to do a photo shoot with all the street art. Yes we looked like huge tourist. There’s also tons of good food here. They have streets with all different kinds of restaurants. It felt like all my Pinterest boards bought to life. There’s lots of sushi, salads, Asian food, Italian food, etc. I could eat here the rest of my life and be totally content. We’re having such an amazing time and loving every second of our trip!

Goodbye Sydney... Hello Melbourne ✈️🌏

Image
And we’re off again! After an amazing time in Sydney it’s time to head to Melbourne. We had such a great time in Sydney and are so sad to have to say goodbye to some of the most hospitable people I’ve ever met. We spent the last week doing lots of service and visiting gorgeous beaches. Our flight for Melbourne landed around 10:00 this morning. The temp here is in the 70’s, very windy and sunny. They say you have all 4 seasons in one day in Melbourne. Shari took us to an amazing pho restaurant for lunch then we saw some beautiful rose gardens. We come home and rested up before the meeting. Once again everyone at the hall was so friendly and welcoming. It seems like we’re going t have another great week!

Blue mountains/ bethel

Image
On Tuesday Eme took us to hike the blue mountains. We did 2 hikes in a row. The first one was 3 sisters, which normally takes 5 hours but we did it in 3. It was gorgeous! You start at the top and hike all the way to the bottom then it’s a steep hike back up to the top. If that wasn’t enough we decided to hike wentworth falls which is 30 min to the falls but it takes 1 hour to hike back up because it’s so steep. The falls at the end were incredible! We got to swim around a bit before our trek back up. By the end of the 2 hikes it felt like we had done the stair stepper at the gym on high intensity for 4 hours. We grabbed a bite to eat then rushed back home to make it to our meeting at 7:30. We got on the wrong train on our way home and didn’t end up getting home until 7:20! We were determined not to miss our meeting so we quickly changed then headed to the Kingdom Hall. Thankfully the Hall was nearby! That brings us to our bethel tour today! We had a great group of girls and got to hav...
